Dave Potter, owner and operator of Totem Tree Operations, grew up in Port Alberni and moved to the Comox valley when he was 18. He considers both places home. An avid rock climber, at the age of 22 Dave began learning about forestry work and was climbing trees full time by 2003. Shortly after Dave became a Certified Faller and began his own tree service (formally known as Alberni Valley Tree Service). Dave brings with him 13 years of forestry experience and is known by some as the “tree whisperer”. Dave’s first priority is safety. Totem Tree Service has done large projects on my property twice. Both times I have been very satisfied with the work from start to finish. Most recent $10,000+ job involved removing huge cottonwood tree from nearby the hydro power lines on busy Hwy #4 on incredibly hot three days. The entire crew worked as a cohesive team, steady pace, working safely and efficiently. Equipment all in good repair. Excellent job. Cleaned off roof at end. THRILLED with result: highly recommend.
