It was on March 16, 1910 when eighteen Swedish émigrés founded a home mission work in Matsqui. With encouragement from the First Swedish Baptist Church (now Northwest Baptist) of Bellingham, Washington, these Swedish settlers in the central Fraser Valley all were pioneers in both farming and faith.
