I am from Kitchener but live out of town now. I have had their pizza before it was great on all visits!!!
Today I went there to try to arrange a pizza delivery for a surprise for my mom's birthday. THEY WERE TERRIFIC!!! Manpreet and Amritpal were so helpful and so kind to help me. The food was pretty good...but it isn't that inexpensive. Our 1/2 litre of wine - really good Cab Sauv suggested by our quite competent waiter -was $24.95! Threw us a bit...but our fault as we didn't check the price first :) Pretty nice wine, though.
We each had the soup of the day which was very good and came with garlic toast plus we split the nachos which were good as well. I have no complaints...We sat in the bar and the waiter/bartender provided excellent service. I was actually surprised that it was so good...LOL....

I can't find the Waterloo location on this site but this review is about my experience there.
Went on a Wednesday with girlfriends for drinks and nibbles in the bar. The service was awesome and the food was pretty quick and very tasty. We shared spinach dip, antojitoes and nachoes and we were stuffed! We didn't know a band would be playing and it was an added bonus. We had a great time and have plans to make this our regular get- together hangout!

We went there for my son's birthday. I have not been there since they have renovated (which was years ago). Growing up I remembered it was the place to go after a day of fun at sportsworld. The evenings was more the college crowd to just drink and be social. Most recently i took my family there on a Friday night. We had to wait 45 minutes but we didn't mind considering it had a nice lobby with a huge couch. The decor resembled the true north with of course moose heads everywhere. i really liked the stone hearth fireplace. The kids really liked the ancient snowmobile overheard. It was a great experience and the server was really friendly and hospitable. The food was okay, not great. Maybe i should have ordered the lumberjack platter or something. Overall we all enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend to others.

Went in on a Monday afternoon had their special 'Panko Fried Bass w/ fries, gravy & Coleslaw' SO good! I prefer to come here in the afternoon when it is a bit more quiet or get take out in the evening as this place start hoppin in the evenings. Incredible service 100%. The sticky toffee pudding is TO DIE FOR. Their mussles are so good that my 10yo orders them every time we were there. Yeah, that’s right, a 10yo. The same kid who won’t even look at a pizza if it has touched pizza sauce.
During COVID, the service standard has been consistently amazing. Even with all the obstacles the food is so delicious, and now THEY DELIVER, which is so much better than pizza every night.

We went for dinner recently as we live in the area and love the Wooly for its atmosphere, choice of beers on tap etc....I just really wish that the food was better..as I remain quite surprised at the overall 'averageness' of the entrees here. Yes, they use locally grown, organic ingredients...I get and support that..but the portion size and flavour leave me unimpressed. Service is always great...and the beer is plentiful and cold...but I think I'll just start going there for beers and maybe fries (which can be hit and miss)...there are just much better places close by (IMO) to get a better pub meal. I will say that of our three meals...mine was the best..a traditional chicken burger with salad..the house dressing was nice. Based on our experience I would not recommend the Cobb salad (very small portion and was drenched in ranch dressing) or the chicken tenders which were just average.

Sorry to hear about you coat!! We take that very seriously at Franks. We have in the past taken calls and always have dealt with our customers in a very professional manner. I would advise to all bar partrons not to coat check an expensive coat. As far as food goes in Franks, yes I would agree that the food has not been 5 star but just recently we have brought on a new menu and we believe that the food has improved dramtically. People don't expect fine dinning this is a bar. Furthermore we have been around for 9 years and our kitchen is open till 2am. We do have a limited menu from 11pm to 2am. It is my mandate to improve the overall expereince at Franks!! This does include Food!! We hope people will give us another try!! Our atmosphere, service, and live music is always on the ball.
