And the breakfast sandwich here is all about the bagel. Choose from classics like poppy seed, sesame seed and plain or the more savoury sun-dried tomato or the insanely popular rosemary-rocksalt. Every day before 11 am, they’re filling these holey boiled dough delights with egg and cheddar and sending you off with a hot coffee for a mere $4.75. Simple, but near perfection.
The Buzz Cafe & Espresso Bar
901 Homer St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2W6This café-cum-gallery on the edge of Yaletown is a welcome and comfortable refuge if you’re looking for a relaxing café breakfast amid wooden tables, large, bright windows and rotating works of art. They have a couple of sandwiches on offer. Served on a toasted English muffin with egg, you have a choice of prosciutto and fontina or tomato and cheddar. Pair it with a delicious latte for a warming, laid-back start to a Saturday browsing Yaletown.
Yolk's

Their free-range egg sandwiches are the stuff of legend. Here, it’s all about choice. Smoked bacon, honey ham or Portobello mushroom is paired with one egg or two, topped with Hollandaise or cheddar and nestled between an English muffin, whole wheat ciabatta or gluten-free bun. Try not to be too distracted by the deliciousness as you hop back on your bike.

Their tasty breakfast sandwich comes piled high — as is their signature — with sausage patties, two eggs, cheddar, tomato chutney, mayo and arugula all on a toasted ciabatta bun. And if that’s not enough for you, it comes with their signature homefries too. A perfect meal in the comfort of an old-school diner. We’re sold.

Dubbed the “Brake Fast” sandwich, you have a choice here of vegetarian — spinach, tomato, egg, pesto and Havarti — or meat — ham, egg, pesto and Havarti. Or you can slam them together for a meat ‘n’ veggie-filled hearty meal. And at $4, it’s hard to go wrong. Swing by on your bike through their bike-only ride-through, or stay a while for a tune-up while you eat.
