This is a review of what I consider to be the best Chinese food restaurant. I often get take-out but occasionally I will dine in. (If you pay with cash, your take-out meal is 10% off)
The food, the service and the atmosphere, in my view, cannot be improved upon. I have only great things to say about this place. I've been going here for about 20 years and I will keep going again and again.
Wow! I am thoroughly shocked how a restaurant like this has operated for so many years. Last time we ate at the restaurant was a few years ago. While the restaurant and ambience were good the food lacked in veryway so I swore never to eat there again. Three or four weeks ago we tried ordering from our favorite Chinese restaurant in Aurora and they were closed so we decided to try Cynthia's thinking time surely must have improved things. The opposite was true. From the telephone ordering process to the meal itself, all a disaster. First of all the staff took every opportunity to price gouge. My wife asked for Deep Fried wonton with meat, commonly found at every other Chinese restaurant, then she ordered pan fried dumplings. When we received the bill the wontons (8-10) cost $14 and the dumplings (8) were $18. When we called toinquire if there had been a mistake we were told that both had to be hand made hence the ridiculous price.
Then on to the balance of the food. Either no flavour, over cooked or glutinee. Not too mention the portions were almost half of other leading restaurants.
The food is tastey but way to pricey, its just generic chinese food, why so much more for this food is beyond me. The food can be alot better for the price have to pays its good but I thing for that money it should be alot better.

I decided to treat my son to his favorite General Tao chicken. Cynthia's was convenient as I was shopping in the area. Imagine my surprise when he showed up with our takeout order totalling $27 for hot and sour soup, singapore vermicelli and the chicken. I don't mind spending on quality food. But the chicken was so overcooked that it was inedible and the vermicelli needed to be doctored with a cup of soy due to lack of flavor, not to mention the smallest portions I've ever seen. We've had much better quality at the foodcourt at the mall. And that's not saying much.
What can I say about this place other than it's the best place for Chinese food in Newmarket. I have never been dissapointed with any of their dishes.
It's more expensive than most Chinese restaurants, but well worth the price.
I have not given out any 10s, but this place comes the closest to that for me.

I have been to many Chinese restaurant before, I have to say this is the best I ever been to. The atmosphere is great and the place is so clean. We let the manager to do the menu for us, and they did an excellent job. Everything is so authentic. People are saying Cynthia's is pricy, but hey, what you pay is what you get. Don't compare this restaurant with other low-end Chinese restaurant like the one in downtown China town. By the way, they have live entertainment on Saturday.

I've had the good fortune to have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in Canada, the United States and a number in London, Paris and even a few in Asia. I've never found a better chinese food experience than what you will find at Cynthia's.
I truly have trouble believing some of the reviews that I have read. One in particular - is a disgruntled employee!
We dine in or take out from Cynthia's a couple of times a month and never once have we been disappointed. If you want a great experience - let your waiter order for you!
The delivery is excellent - our soup was so hot when it arrived that we had to let it sit for several minutes before we could even attempt to eat it. Or ourders are always accurrate and arrive on time or early!

The decore of the restaurant is good and the service was okay. But it went all downhill from there. The food was way overpriced and medicore at best. And quite frankly, I have tasted better elsewhere for less. They charged us twice for tea because we asked for an additional cup after the pot that we ordered had arrived. This was a total insult and very cheap of them. A restaurant should, at the most, charge per pot of tea (it should not matter how many cups you have with that pot). I left no tip. I would not recommend this restaurant. If you want a nicer dining experience, then; please look elsewhere!

I took my brother to Cynthia's for his birthday, he loves good Chinese food. I had the Lemon Chicken and my brother had the Sizzling Beef...both were fantastic and the service was remarkable. My brother was so impressed that he thinks he may plan his wifes birthday next month at Cynthia's....he said the food is worth the long drive from Agincourt!

This was our first dining experience at Cynthia's and we were very impressed with the quality and selection of food. As well the presentation and service was outstanding. It was a dining pleasure worth repeating and we would definitely recommend Cynthia's without hesitation.
The service was fast and efficient and the selection of food was fantastic. The taste was amazing and the price was great. The atmosphere was very nice; open and uncluttered. A great place to dine.

We actually had close to 20 people in our party. The whole experience was perfect and wonderful. Our entire party had extremely good things to say, and were very happy. It was a very special night and celebrating it at Cynthia's made it perfect.
