Meet the owner

Jeremy Passat and his partner Mathieu Dechezelle opened the Kitchenette on November 13, 2015. "We were living in Saint-Barthes, in the Caribbean and wanted to open our own restaurant," says Jeremy. Initially, the duo looked everywhere and even considered opening in Australia.

"All we knew is that we wanted a restaurant with an open kitchen in an open and pleasant environment. I have a friend who already lived here and was always raving about the charms of Montreal. We considered several locations," recalls the restaurateur.

After weeks of research, Mathieu and Jeremy finally narrowed their sights on a location on René-Lévesque Boulevard, opposite the Radio-Canada Tower. They fell in love with the restaurant's many windows, the string of eccentric columns and above all, the massive counter overlooking the work space that was completely clear and open.
