Few young adults can boast joining a law firm as a partner: the rank is generally accessible to senior lawyers with years of experience and service. At just under 30 years old, Freddy Bui-Khac became the exception to the rule, making partner in BB Immigration, a firm specializing in providing legal advice to newly arrived immigrants, established in Montréal and Québec.
“I am a first-generation Canadian myself; my parents are Vietnamese, and their immigration journey inspired me from a young age to pursue immigration law,” he confides. “It’s a very gratifying area of law to practice in, because you become an invaluable resource for the newly-arrived, who we get to accompany every step of the way. These are people who are looking for a new life, what’s best for their children; it’s a privilege to help them on that important journey,” he explains.
BB Immigration offers legal advice for the immigration and visa process for individuals, but also for businesses interested in doing business in Montreal, or self-employed seeking new opportunities. The firm also provides expertise for mergers and acquisitions of local and foreign businesses and in the creation of new business entities.
