Golden Fish & Chips invites you to their restaurant. This eatery proposes a variety of fishes, fish & chips and seafood for 11$ to 25$. Come enjoy their casual ambiance. They are open at night from Tuesday to Sunday.
What can I say? Worst fish I have ever eaten. Had to take a paper towel to the fish to soak up all the grease. Inside of the box was drenched in grease. It took 2 paper towels to at least get rid of some of the grease. Very disappointed. Wont be re-ordering from here ever again.
Wonderful food - Nice light batter on your choice of type of fish with a side of fries, very flavourful rice or a healing helping of stir fried veggies. We've moved now but will make a point to go to Gokdens every time we're back to Waterloo.
Overall the lightly battered fish was the best. My boyfriend had the regular batter and I chose the light and we both agreed mine was better! For a simple fish & chips meal this place is great. The only negative I can say is that their hours are strange and their wait staff aren't overly personable (although definitely not unfriendly, just didn't really take an interest).
Either way I would go again and would recommend the food to anyone looking for a decent fish & chips meal.
Since moving to K-W 3 years ago, we have been trying to find a good fish and chip restaurant. We had a hard time finding a restaurant that had good fish....not Cod, and fresh handcut fries. So many places servce only Cod, and use frozen chips. Golden Fish and Chips opened recently (in the Sobeys Plaza, Bridgeport and Weber) and it is great. There are several types of fish....haddock, halibut, talapia, pollock (and cod if you like it), shrimp, etc. They even have mushy peas. The chips are very good. The service is fast, and pleasant. On our second visit, the waitress recognized us, and brough my father water without ice. This will definitely be our fish and chip treat from now on.
