Tacos are on the menu at Seven Lives and the specialty is Baja-style. The fish tacos are so popular that there is usually a line-up out the door! Everything is made in house, including spicy salsas you can add to your taco.
Located in Kensington Market, Seven Lives is a cash-only taqueria serving up Baja-style tacos. It opened in 2012, after a successful stint as a pop-up. The must try-dish is the Gobernador, a house-smoked tuna, grilled shrimp and cheese taco.
There’s often a line out the door for these fresh fish, beef and chicken tacos – so get there early before they run out. And don’t worry; it is most definitely worth the wait. The various fish options are lightly battered or not, the octopus is tender and the Gobernator (shrimp, smoked marlin and cheese) is a must-try. Fresh juices are often available at lunch too, to wash down the gourmet Mexican fare.
