Meet the owner

Growing up Dr. Hussein Rattansi always had an interest in sports and exercise. It led him to study physiology, kinesiology and eventually he went to Chicago for chiropractic school. Having a varied interest in the different ways of treating pain and injuries gave him the inspiration to set up  Emkiro Health Services, a family business and multidisciplinary health centre, in 2006. Years later, his wife Farha joined him. “We wanted to do something of significance for not just the community but for the profession in an interdisciplinary manner,” says Dr. Rattansi, founder and president. “That has given us a very well-rounded approach to helping patients.”

The name Emkiro is a Japanese hybrid word describing one’s journey back, and was chosen by Dr. Rattansi to represent the journey back to recovery. Emkiro Health Services' motto is 'Do the things you love,' and their services are modelled around that, offering chiropractic healthcare, physiotherapists, massage therapists, medical acupuncture and athletic therapy in Toronto. Having all those tools under one roof provides different approaches to pain management to get people up and active again, whether they are professional athletes or office workers.

Walk-in clinics open late in Toronto

Walk-in clinics open late in Toronto

Ideally, you want a walk-in clinic for convenience but a scheduled appointment to avoid a wait. This is where Emkiro has put on its thinking cap. You get to call ahead and make an appointment, make your way to the clinic and step in for your slot without the wait that can be typical of a regular walk-in place. Kill two birds with one stone and get blood work on the premises. They also offer massage and physiotherapy.
