Just got back from a work luncheon. The salad was bland, despite having tomatoes, bacon bits, egg, feta cheese and poppy seed dressing (was that REALLY feta cheese?). The whole thing tasted the same and why put the dressing on the bottom? The cheese toast (as described on their menu): "Loaded with bubbling cheddar, pizza mozzarella and Parmesan with a hint of garlic." Again, really? It didn't bubble (it was at best lukewarm) and if there was a hint of garlic, it must have been bottled. The cheese appeared to be processed (and tasted that way). The atmosphere was fine (they all look the same) and I rated the service as great because one waiter did everything for a party of about 20 people, although he did have some help delivering the meals. Cross this one off the list....
Boston Pizza is one of my favorite chain restaurants. With that being said, this is the worst Boston Pizza I have ever visited. Tables were unclean, chairs were dirty, the floor was sticky with spilled pop. Debris was on the floor, like dropped food and toilet paper someone must have dragged out of the bathroom on their shoe - no one bothered to clean it up - staff walked right over it. Food was prepared with minimum effort, but because they were following some Boston Pizza guidelines it was still good enough to eat. Our waitress, a young Asian woman, spent most of her time chatting with other young Asian customers (this restaurant is fairly close to York University). She ignored many of the other non-Asian tables, and I had to go up to the bar to get my drink refills. Needless to say, she got an 8 cent tip. The men's washroom was a disaster zone. The porcelain of the toilet was cracked and I don't think it could support a human's weight if someone needed to sit down. Holes were punched in the walls, towel rack was hanging off one side, sink was dirty and full of black tarry stuff with fruit flies flitting about, wet and dry toilet paper was pulped around on the walls and floor. This was the most unsanitary and dysfuntional restaurant washroom I've ever seen. I regret not calling public health because they shouldn't have opened for business if this was the state. Go find another Boston Pizza. Go someplace else.
O.K folks....Here is the bottom line on Boston Pizza...all locations. a) Just about everythhing is pre-measured, pre-cooked and/or pre-fabricated. b) all sauces are squeezed out of plastic bags. c) all menu items are overpriced. Toronto is home to the world's most competitive pizza market. Also, it is home to more Italian restaurants per capita than any other city in Canada. So, why would anyone choose Boston Pizza for anything more than a glass of water at the bar ???
The food was great. I really liked the taste of it. The only problem I thought....was the service. It took a really long time to get the food. Even then....it took a while to get the dessert.
We went to watch EuroCup Soccer in the Sports Bar. They have a huge sign hanging behind the bar which advertises half-price appetizers. Except, when you get your bill the appetizers are not billed at half-price. False and misleading advertising at it’s best. We pointed this out to the manager, but he says that only the wings are half price. There was no attempt to correct our bill despite pointing out that the sign had advertised something different. I had a similar experience when I went to watch NCAA Basketball in March. At the time, I informed the server, but they can’t do much. It’s the managers who have to change things. Even then, the franchise owners are likely putting them under pressure to increase their sales. My guess is that this is just normal business practice for this particular location of Boston Pizza. Although we were sitting at the bar, the service was poor. The food was O.K., but the game was great. I'd recommend people avoid this place like the plague!
This was my first and last experience I went celebrate an occasion and was disappointed. First when I ordered the salad on of the salad dressing options was balsamic, I was informed that they no longer carry it, why was it still on the menu? Anyway the pasta and sauce was terrible, I make a better one and the chicken tasted like it was frozen and fried and dressed. My husband was not impressed with food either I had always heard that the food sucked maybe I should have listened.
got the steak dinner with veggies. the steak didnt taste that great. sorta dry. was definitely not worth it and will not go back for anything but pizza. maybe that's all their good for making, considering the name. however the spinach dip was really good.
