Aunt's Elsie Carribean Kitchen

According to owner Roger Williams, Aunt Elsie’s Caribbean Kitchen has a lot of fans willing to come from far away for a taste of his authentic Jamaican cuisine. “We get people in from all over who come here for our food,” Roger says. “Many used to live here and now live in Ajax, Pickering and Oshawa, but they love the food and come whenever they’re in the neighbourhood.”

Aunt Elsie’s specializes in Caribbean food in many different forms, from fresh-baked goods to homemade meals, but Roger is particularly proud of the traditional food. “We don’t use cheap stuff,” he assures. “We have high quality, authentic Jamaican cuisine.” And if the returning customers are any indication, the Jamaican food is worth a trip in from the suburbs. Roger recommends the jerk chicken and oxtail in particular.
