Our original restaurant Sushi Cushi (which means 'raw fish and cooked food' in Japanese) began in 2007 at the Winnipeg Baseball Stadium. Since then, our name has changed but our restaurant still revolves around this name: half of our menu consists of fresh raw fish and the other half delicious pan fries, deep fries and stir fries. I began learning how to make sushi working as a chef in a variety of restaurants around Winnipeg in 2002. As my culinary skills grew I began to think about how sushi, if made right, can be so delicious and so healthy. Since then, it has always been my goal to open my own restaurant in order for me to make the best sushi possible for hungry customers.
