Went there for a family function about a month ago. Overall, I found the place to be very good. The portion sizes were good and the food was tasty. The veal was too salty but still tasty. Not sure if I would go back there for a 2 person dinner but it was a nice place for 30 people to eat at.
Food is good at this restaurant, as is the service. I attended a wedding anniversary at this location and the manager was very good to the hosts of the party. Would recommend for anyone wanting a nice night out

My bf and I went for the third time and the meal was excellent. The portions were perfect. We had to doggie bag it. My bf's Veal was great, and the chipotle sauce on my salmon was killer. We will definately go back again. The 3 course meals for 24.99 are a great value. And they are 3 courses of real food. 2 aps and a main. Not a 3rd course of lame desert.
Don't know why family keeps having events here. Not authentic Italian. Pasta was Al Dente, but what's with piling on the veal, chicken, potatoes and veggies like a tower on a plate - then spoil it with all the mixed sauces, making the vegetables soggy! Keep them all separate so the veggies keep crisp and the meats contain their own sauces. Place is dated - needs "Restaurant Makeover" for some help!
We recently had dinner here and both the service and food were excellent- we had a special occasion to celebrate and we couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate. My veal was wonderful and my guest loved their meals too
The parmigiana tasted like deep fried burnt oil and my wife's pasta was overcooked.The cook should know that seafood should Never be overcooked,otherwise it will shrink and gets tough.Service was tired and below avarage.We will never return.
I can't believe this restaurant has been open for 3 years and I never knew it was there. It is hidden in an office complex across from Pickering Town Centre. It is so pretty inside I felt like I should be celebrating something. I had the Mediterranean Chicken. It was so plump and juicy and perfectly cooked. The sauce was incredible. (I have since read on their website that the chef trained as a saucier with one of Canada's top chefs.... so no wonder it is sooo good). My wife ordered the lasagna and it was rich and creamy... not overbaked like you get in a lot of places. Seemed to have been prepared fresh. The white chocolate raspberry mouse cake looked like an awfully thin piece when first set down, but it is quite tall and by the time I finished it, I couldn't have taken another bite because it was so rich and sweet. Absolutely sinful !! Loved the service. Perfect combination of professional yet friendly. I can't wait to go back !!
We waited 15 minutes to be seated even with the reservation.The food wasn't of good quality.The salmon tasted fishy and my wife's pasta dish was DISGUSTING.The wine wasn't chilled properly.The dining room was disorganized .Definetely a very bad Valentine's experience.Do me a favour.... save your money and avoid this place.
My veal and calamary were deep fried in burnt oil,because that was all I could taste.Disgusting!!!The pasta was overcooked and had little ingredients and was very watery.I could taste something like powdered lobster powder.Service was difensive when approached.Presentation was non exhistent.TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!
The restaurant should NOT be called Al Dente but Al MUSHY!that's how my pasta was cooked.The sauce for the salmon tasted like it came out of a can.Terrible.I was planning to host a party there ,but good thing I tried it out first.NOT A CHANCE!!!!!

Horrid.Smelly Shrimps,Sticky pasta.Bad service.Warm pinot grigio wine.Will never return.Next time I prefer driving a bit longer knowing that I will enjoy myself.Terrible.
What happened?The food is not italian but it is like fast food.Pastas were overcooked and sticky.The cook should mix the pastas in the boiling water while cooking.The calamary tasted like burnt oil.Very bad.
Hi everyone, We recently had the pleasure of enjoying yet another fantastic event at Al Dente. We are repeat customers and will continue to go back in future. I would refer anyone to this restaurant. Our room set up and meal service was fantastic & the food was amazing. The staff were friendly and accomodating and the meal was prompt and delicious. Al Dente exceeded all of our expectations and made our son's communion day that much more memorable. A special thank you to Stacey, Keith, Corrado and the rest of the caring team that helped out at the communion. You guys are the best!!
I love this restaurant and I will definitely recommend people to go and visit. The food is great, the atmosphere is warm and the customer service is great and that is one of my main concerns as I worked on training people for good customer service. You always get a warm welcome when you go in to that place from all the staff. Compared to many restaurants in the Pickering and Ajax area I will rate this restaurant a 10. (None of the bar and grills or other Italian restaurants in Pickering or Ajax compare to Al-Dente) I have visited this restaurant at least 4 or 5 times now and plan to continue my visit. I remember once in one of my visits with 6 people I had requested a Shrimp pasta dish for potatoes instead and Stacey with a warm smile said no problem. Staff who have an accommodating attitude and with a smile is what I call a good restaurant. Please keep up the good customer service.
Excellent service! The servers were attentive and readily available. Stacey who I booked the event with was exceptional and came in to check on us several times to ensure everything was o.k...the food was excellent and very plentiful for the price we paid. We found Al Dente gave us great bang for our buck and I would highly recommend it for a function or a casual dinner, i have done both and have never been disappointed
Very bad service .Food was terrible and it was a total disappointment.They didn't only lose us as costumers but a lot more future ones.
We ordered an appetizer platter that was devine, the rib steak was the best I have ever had & the service was impeccable. A great dining experience
