Maybe I got you on a bad day but all the food I had was cold and the mens washrooms were out of soap, hand towels and filthy.
Shrimps have not been cleaned! Its like eating sand! will never be back
Great place. food is excellent, and the establishment is clean and fresh. It is difficult to find both great pricing along with great food. I take my family here when they come to town and there is never a complaint. customer service is wonderful. always friendly and polite.
Its what you would expect with a Buffet. Ample food but a tad on the bland side. Price is ok, and a lot of selection but its not a place I would say I'm a regular at
Fantastic Buffet!! Lots of different choices that they don't have in a lot of other buffets...My only complaint were the crab legs...They should be steamed and not sitting in water...They don't taste like crab, they taste like hot water...Other than that, everything was great and the food was piping hot...Would definately go back again!!!
This place is great .A great variety of chinese food plus some canadian food.We were seated and our server was there within sec. They are there to pick up empty plates sec. after u set them aside.And always checking if u need any more to drink or anything else is needed I've even start eating things crabs legs and mussels since going there. recommend to eveyone that likes chinese
Lots to choose from. Food was very fresh. We made sure we went at supper time 500 and it was not yet that busy, not untill 6 pm. a bit costly for dinner, with a coke it was 20.00 each and i dont eat that much as im a vegetarian. we did order on new years eve, and we had food for 3 days after. so next time we will order out as you get way much more.
This is one of the best Chinese buffets east of Toronto and west of Ottawa!...the food is tasty and the flavours are not mixed...you wont find the same flavours in all the buffet lines...it is very delicious and i mean delicious...its the kind that makes you go...mmm mmm good!!. the food tastes like what it should be..definitely not a generic taste..Excellent in my book! the best yet...some of the other buffets that i have gone to on a regular basis..are getting blandish and not tasty enough to warrant a continual attendance..i would much prefer the new South China Buffet for Chinese food..it also offers sushi...now i havent gone to the other, mings sushi and dim sum but will next time..however SOUTH CHINA BUFFET is one of the BEST eats in this neighbourhood!! So check it out and tell your friends and neighbours...definitely worth the trip! The chef is definitely a chef..not just a cook..Enjoy! :)
This new restaurant, 1 year since last year..has been the best Chinese food to be eaten since I left Toronto 13 years ago!..The food is tasty and delicious. There is a chef not just any cook who thinks he can make chinese food...This guy makes real food...Chinese and is good at it...the food is what it says...and it tastes like it instead of the generic tasting food in all the fast food chinese joints. I am of Chinese origin so I know of what I speak!..so go and enjoy this new place! it is definitely worth it...GREAT food!..pass it on to your friends and neighbours...good for parties and so forth...no not related to anyone who owns the place but I thought that recommending this would avoid you going to bad Chinese eats!!. lol..Enjoy.
Excellent selection, hot,and reasonable prices. You can also get Canadian food.
Great food!, not too spicey and well rounded flavours. My only complaint is the lemon sauce, tastes too much like lemon grass and not real lemons. Service was great! Price was amazing, Buffet and two cokes for 20$. Buffet was fresh and good blend of fried and vegetable foods.
The best Chinese buffet in Peterborough. We go to buffets whenever we can because its best value for food for our family. South China Buffet has the freshest food, with the best variety of any other Chinese buffet in town. The service is speedy and polite, and there is always fresh food flowing into the buffet. We have been back on several occasions and will continue to be a customer at this buffet.

First time there & we enjoyed the food, my husband didn't eat much as he wasn't feeling well what he had he enjoyed. We just moved up to Lakefield a year ago so we are trying different restaurants. Told some friends so they are going to come with us again.
A new establishment so we had to try glad we did because we likely wont visit again. We arrived and the place was 1/2 full and so ws the buffett. Sushi was dry and tasteless and buffett fare was bairly average and below. Too many good Chinese choices in Peterborough for this place to last too long.
Its the only Chinese food place in Peterborough worth visiting. Like any buffet, there's all you can eat. For the supper hour the garlic shrimp are excellent, and the stuffed mushroom caps are great.
First time visitor to new establishment. In a word it was OK! The food was plentiful, of course it was lunch and the place was full. The service was ok!. The atmosphere was a little frantic. Again it was Ok. Now if it is still here in a years time will be the true test. Overall I would eat there again. Really there was nothing that stood out and yet nothing to complain about either
First time visit. Arrived at restaurant around 6 pm hoping the food would be fresh for dinner time. It was not! Food looked like it was sitting around since lunch time. Some foods were dry, soggy or greasy and lacked flavour. Service was good, but disappointed with the poor selection.
