This is my 2nd visit to this location in a very long time. The lady at the counter greeted me with a smile but did not bring the food to me when it was ready. D Hot Shoppe will walk it over to you. They understand customer service and they even know me by name by now.
Based upon its reviews, we contracted with Kori's to cater lunch for 15 people at our new Oakville offices. Our people enjoyed the fun of making their own roti sandwiches. Interesting flavours. A refreshing break from the usual business lunch of: wraps, sandwiches, salads and pizza.
Have been going to Kori's every once in a while for a few years now. Generally consistent but on the last visit I was very disappointed with the roti. Basically my goat roti was just curry and potatoes. I counted three small pieces of goat that I ate in all of two bites. Up the value by giving me a reasonable amount of meat and I might go back. I will say this though. They are very nice people and the service is friendly but I suspect they are cheaping out on their fillings to squeeze every last cent of profit they can. Shame really because it used to be so much better.
Well the food is not as it used to be, few year back when the original owner was managing it the food was fantastic. Now the sauce is very liquid and the chicken was cooked too fast, good food need time to cook. A curry pot is always better when cooked slow a day before and not half an hour ago.
I've been going to kori's since I was a little kid an I live 30min away but I always make it a goal of mine to stop by an grab an amazing shrimp roti try it hot and it's the greatest I've ever had. The lady is nice and I think she does a great job for someone who works in the service industry I always go back you should try it!
Food was great. I like it hot and it was hot enough. I wouldn't order the large portion of chicken meal as I felt there was too much rice. I saw this location on the TV show: Street Eats. I found the young lady working the counter to be not a people person and wasn't interested in small chat despite not being busy. I guess she wasn't interested in customers coming back. Luckily the food was enough for me to come back.
Very good roti in Oakville, quite a wait but it's worth it!
this is the best roti i have experienced in the GTA friendly, quick service quality good location best 8bucks you will ever spend
I have been visiting Kori's Roti for 20 years, since they first opened. I moved away and back again, and as a Trini I can say the food is tops. It provides a clean and efficient service. If you have ever been to a Caribbean restaurant you know this place is fast (for Caribbean food). The wait is usually due to the large volume of orders this place handles. Location is hard to find, but well worth it. Best Doubles in Canada on Saturday morning, but go early, they sell out fast. Kudos to Kori for selling to family who is so dedicated to keeping her good name with great food and a great atmosphere.
I love this place, it's on my way to work and when I'm too busy to pack a lunch I usually drop in and grab a roti to go. My only complaint is that at times it's really backed up and can take anywhere between 2 minutes (if it happens to be not so busy) or up to 20 minutes if the line is out the door. I also like mine hot and the pepper sauce is really unpredictable, sometimes when you order it hot it will burn off your tongue...other times it's so tame that you'd wished you had ordered suicide; regardless it's still a tasty meal that will fill you up.
Kori's has maintained its consistency with their food and service ever since ms kori has left. period. the place often has lines out the door, and service has been great. every restaurant has bad days but Kori's has stayed on top. her niece fills in for the missing love kori brought to the restaurant. delicious food, island atmosphere.keep up the phenominal work Koris.
went there on a friday and the place was jam packed! line up out the door. My goat roti was very dry and the curry did not taste the same as earlier in the week. The dinner was excellent, the chicken was very tasty. My order didnt take that long. The girl at the counter was very friendly and did her best to be consistent with orders and answering phone calls. Great place to eat and get service. Just wondering if there are new cooks?
My parters and I have been weekly regulars to Koris since the 90's. Food had always been top of the line. No complaints! We have tried several caribbean restaurants, including Jamaican and Nothing beats Kori's hole in the wall. As for service, the girl at the front is Kori's niece and I give kuddos to her for putting up with the ignorance that comes in that place. She is always smiling and friendly. Keep it up!
I thought this was one of the number one roti take outs in ontario. The service was pretty bad because it was very slow but what do you expect with three people working behind the counter. The food was AMAZING. There is no other word for it. The place should be bigger and have more chairs and tables for people to seat at. The roti stays hot and perfect and the taste is just delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable for taste that good and the roti fills you up perfectely. This place should however be out in the open a little bit more but other than the service, location and limited room there is too move around at lunch time there is no doubt that this is on of the best places to eat at.
Eat here all the time. Food very consistent, and very good. Staff is very friendly, but of course usually very busy at typical lunch time.
Haven't been there in over a year, but last time I was there the roti was great. Service is a bit slow during the lunch time lineup, but worth the ~15min wait. Very good value for your dollars.
been their about 3 times, the last two times was a very bad experience, the girl who cashes is rude and only spke friendly to who she chooses to, she really do behave like she have an ego. the roti was ok, had better. will not go back.
Koris is an amazing friendly atmosphere. Although I still love the food and service it just hasn't been the same since Kori has left. She was the life of that resturant and made you feel like part of the family. I'm still a regular though and will always be as the food is outstanding!!!
I was introduced to this place a few months ago, and have enjoyed lunch there frequently since! Myself being a shrimp lover - 5 big shrimps in one roti surprised me. Most resturants you pay a lot more for what the call "tiger shrimp" and out come 2 small baby shrimp on your meal. I also reccommend to call ahead with your order to avoid the long lineup at lunch - saves yourself waiting!
This place may be small but what it lacks in space it makes up in taste. I have been coming here for about a year and will go no where else for a roti. I live in downtown Toronto and no one can compare. They are consistant in food quality and in service. Keep up the good work!
