Came across this little tea shop in downtown Markham. I decided to give the Afternoon Tea for Two a try. I had to wait over 30 minutes before we were seated even with a reservation, and then another 30 minutes or so before the food arrived. The food itself was tasty, especially the pinwheel sandwiches. Service was slow but the server was polite and friendly. The price was ok but I wouldn't go again unless I have a few hours to spare.
You’ll need to make reservations when getting afternoon tea at the Old Curiosity Tea Shop, but the traditional English meals here sound like they’re worth it. Round out your tea, scones, cream, and cakes with a hearty serving of steak and kidney pie, welsh rarebit, or sticky toffee pudding. Considering that this shop has been voted Markham’s #1 tea room for three years in a row, you’ll win no matter which dish you pick.
