Dericious!! Best Chinese food in KW hands down!!
I've been coming here 15 plus years. But today they decided they couldn't accommodate a single even though there was no line up. Sadly for them they just lost another customer
I have enjoyed their style of Chinese food for years. Recently remodeled, looks quite classy: black wood, mirrors, glass. If you know your food and order well it is great there, picks for four are good too.
I used to order Chinese Food exclusivly from The Cameron, but no more. Over the past few visits/orders our orders have been consistanly wrong. This time the order was lost all together, with no appology I reordered our meal. Then I discovered a wrong item. I called their attention to this and ended up getting in a shouting match with the hostess. Ridiculous. The service and the unprofessionalism of the staff has convinced me NEVER to darken their doors again. I am in the service industry and it takes quite a bit to get me to write a negative review, but now I understand why people do.
The dim sum was good as usual. It tastes better than dim sum I've had at other restaurants recently; maybe they 'do' use pork fat to cook everything. Whatever, it tastes good. Haven't experienced the rudeness that some reviewers talk about, but maybe we've been lucky so far.
I'm a repeat customer and we always have a wonderful time. Mostly, we order from the dim sum menu and add a couple specialty dishes. I think the recent renovation really improved the overall restaurant. It's much sharper and they've eliminated the slick plastic table clothes. In addition, the bathrooms are clean! For the adventuresome who are unfamiliar with Chinese cuisine, they have a picture menu. I don't know how thorough it is, though. A better option for the uninitiated is to bring a friend who knows their dim sum. As well, the dim sum menu lacks prices and doesn't say how many of each item are in an order. I was a bit surprised to hear some of the negative stories about this restaurant. Since I usually go there for dim sum and once for dinner, it never occurred to me that they offer take-out services or even have a "Chinese Canadian" menu. Staff and management have always been courteous. They don't take reservations for sim sum so show up early on the weekends.

We used to go to Cameron before, for their great food and quality. But ever since they renovated I found that have become more "snooty" and apparently have these rules that blew me away. We arrived early knowing that they usually get busy around 11-11:30am. The rest of our party haven't showed up yet. The host told us that we had to wait for the rest of our party before we could be seated. Ok fine. Dim sum was excellent, to our expectations. But having misjudged how much we could eat, we requested to order more food. They told us no. That it would take too long to cook more as to why they encourage people to order only once. Now I understood that they are a small business and they rely on quick turnovers, but come on! Needless to say our lunch with longtime old friends turned out to be a 'dine and dash' moment.
The "greeter" refused to seat us for 15 minutes until our whole party arrived even though the restaurant was mostly empty. After telling us to basically lump it or leave it, she continued her barrage in Chinese (we assume she didn't think we could understand or maybe she did). Dim Sum was ordered from a menu and we were told that once the order was submitted, we could not add to our order. There was also a minimum charge of $10 per person. Would not recommend it unless you like rude and surly service with a really bad attitude. We will not be going back.
To be honest, I've never eaten on-site. However, this is the only place where I will order take-out anymore. It has completely ruined all other Chinese food for me. Why? It is so fresh and flavourful! You know that gritty texture in your mouth you get sometimes after eating Chinese? NOT HERE! The staff are also always amazing. They are so friendly and always greet you when you walk in. They are always happy and willing to make sure everything is the way you want it. Everyone I know has now turned away from other places and will only get their Chinese take-out from here!
The restaurant had been on the "must visit" list for a while now. There have been stories about the dim sums, and how the place is one of the few to offer some genuine Chinese experience. One sunny winter weekend, two hungry guys in search of something warm and filling to eat rolled in f or some dim sum. The place was small. For lunch time it was not even half full, but still provided a cozy atmosphere. A good cup of tea infused some warmth and got the two focused on food. The menu is not very descriptive and even misleading (What was listed as octopus on the menu, actually turns out to be cuttlefish) and lacked prices, so a photo album was provided. This is very useful for first time visitors, who want to make sure that what they are ordering is in fact what they think they are ordering. Food was decent. It came quickly and five dim sum orders were enough for two hungry men. The worst part of the whole thing was the overall unwelcome, arrogant and borderline rude attitude from the staff. There was a sense of tension and rush, even though the joint was not busy. A good cup of tea infused some warmth and got the two focused on food. I recomend 100% tis restaurant. The service it´s very good and the presentation of the food. I like the chicken and rice. Very good!
love it love it love it, passion, heart, desire, they have it all. trust me, you'd want to return to this restaurant again and again, regardless of how much money you spend! After their renovation, it has completely changed. Their waiters are top-tier, and they are pretty much known for cleanliness now. i think i might go there tomorrow, ha!
Cameron is by far the best Chinese restaurant....they have the normal western Chinese food like chicken balls and chow mein and stuff but if you want REAL Chinese food and DIM SUM(BEST THING EVER) Cameron is the place to be. The have the best fried rice ive tried in any Chinese restaurant....and Ive lived in Vancouver where some of the Chinese restaurants are even better then places in Hong Kong. The only thing that I could say needs the slightest improvement is the outside appearance of the restaurant. It is an older building even though the inside has recently been redecorated and created a whole new atmosphere. I totally would recommend Cameron to anyone who enjoys authentic Asian cooking.
