We have been to Poco Loco many times. We first visited last year. We had the tacos. We did not return for 6 months and the man who owns the restaurant remembered us.
The nachos do need to be the first thing you eat if you order them.
The burritos are great and filling! I love to drink a smoothie afterward.
The food is not fast, but it is good. The one big table shared by customers is lined with hot sauces which is always an adventure.
Let me start off by saying that I had better! Poco Loco's is not customer oriented, very bad customer service along with the worse service EVER! The staff is unprofessional and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone..I waited for my food for 20 minutes while there was only 2 customers ahead of me. When my food was ready the stupid staff thought it was the customer's and left the food on the counter meanwhile I had already said that it was my order. Five minutes later and a bunch of bickering back and forth I finally received my food, nice and soggy! I have already told 19 people about how unprofessional this place really is and I know word of mouth is the best way to spread information. Just want until I tell my colleagues about this, there is about 63 of us! P.S., The 20 minute wait was NOT worth it because your food is DISGUSTING!!
well the burritos were as good as I was told they were. Though I was slightly disappointed on the amount of stuff in the burritos. The meat was an okay portion, but I couldn't even taste most of the "free toppings". It was still a super burrito. I ordered the passion fruit frappe and I think she may have been misinformed about how to make them as it was a lot of milk and ice with a dash of juice. I would order it again with some specifications. Enjoyed my mini date night out with some good burritos I couldn't have made myself!
The restaurant is a bit crowded and could use a few more seats, but by the time our food was ready we all managed to sit down. I do like the long communal table with high seats making the restaurant feel more social. I had the shredded pork burrito which was flavourful and was satisfied. There were lots of fillings, but I would have liked more meat for the 8 dollar price tag. A bit spendy for just a burrito. I would go back to this place more ofter if the burrito was 5 or 6 dollars, but for 8 I will likely only visit once a month or so. I did apprecite the huge variety of hot sauces on the table to experiment with.
the tacos and buritos are extremely good and very large, this is a good alternative to taco bell as its affordable takeout. im not a fan of the nachos, like everyone else says they do get soggy fast and dont travel well at all, even the owner warned us of this when we ordered. nice friendly service, makes you feel welcome.
I tried this restaurant a few weeks ago with a friend. When we had gone it was the owner and a male chief that had been there. I had order the fajita and my friend the tacos special, to which we both enjoyed after getting home. I had also ordered the nachos especial which was mediocre at best.
A previous reviewer had made a remark about them being soggy and I know why. The chief microwaves the nachos and cheese making the nachos soft. when the rest of the toppings are added what you get is the top of the portion being "ok", while the bottom is soggy.
Another thing that bothered me was that not all meals come with a free drink. Which really makes the food that you order very expensive. You can make your own for less money and more of it. Getting a free drink with all the meals would be a good improvement especially on a hot day.
Tacobell on the other hand, the food quality may be less but you get more value from it by getting a drink and fries.
Second visit..
Today I went in wanting to try the burritos. It was busy and I had to wait over 5mins while the owner dealt with other customers. There was a young lady that was the cook I gather this time, who didn't seem to be much in a hurry to get food prepared. While waiting I noticed a large older women enter the kitchen carrying two tupperware containers filled with I'm guessing toppings. She then noticed how busy it was and began to help, (not wearing gloves I might add) for those who are concerned by this. (after the h1n1 event I'm concerned..)
I witnessed her taking a few tortillas barehanded and then holding them close to her apron, noticeably touching it; While she moved around to prepare a couple meals. By then that was enough for me and I left rather disgusted.
Leaving after experiencing this I had to wonder if what one reviewer had wrote about there being tomatoes in the bathroom was true or not.
I have to really question how the food is truly handled in this place and how sanitary it really is after seeing how the old lady handled the tortillas..
Will I ever go again?.... I don't know.
I just stopped by for a quick bite to go. Got the taco special 3 tacos & a pop. Pretty darn good! A generous portion of tomatoe/sour cream/lettuce/cheese & ground beef. Thier patio looks inviting . Next time i will try the chicken quesadia(sp)
This is one of our favourite places for lunch. The menu is limited but the quality is great. Everything is made fresh to order.
The atmosphere is fun but there is only one long common table with high chairs. There is a fantastic selection of hot sauces in the middle of the table.
In warm weather there are picnic tables outside with umbrellas. Worth a try.
Excellent food! The chicken burritos are amazing, and made exactly to your liking. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. If you are eating in, there is a large selection of hot sauce to choose from. Love it!
