Buffet options were paltry compared to other restaurants you can find at the same price range.
Surly attitude from owner after we complained about the long wait for food (ordered, instead of buffet), as if he couldn't be bothered to talk to.
We definitely received sub-par service compared to the other diners. And while I wouldn't flat out say that he is a racist, we do share the same feelings as the first reviewer.

Although the food was somewhat tasty, the amount of food I got was absolutely tiny. The beef with brocolli came in a small small soup container and was not even filled to the top, about halfway and the brocolli was way overcooked to the point of mushiness. There was not a lot of fried rice either. I think they just gave me food from the buffet, and not a lot of it either. Attitude of server was also not very friendly. Never again!

the is and always will be good, its not the best choice but my favorite choices since I was a kid, The only thing I would like to say is that the drinks aren't free refills and the location could be in a nicer part of town. I have never been treated with disrespect, or had any problems with the staff while dinning in or delivery. I am a College Student At Humber and feel a great gratitude for this restaurant for great food fair prices and always a good experience. I Always recommend Shanghai to other College student for a nice dinner we can afford. Keep Up the good work.
The atmosphere was very nice. The service however was not the best. The waitresses were not polite, they did not treat me with courtesy and they shoved my take out bag on me. It was pretty rude despite the fact that there was no one in the restaurant for them to attend to. The soup tasted like hot water with random veges placed in it as well. It seems like a nice cozy comfy restaurant. If those two things changed, i would definitely recommend it to anyone.. but i did not have a good experience here.
The food was good and tasty, convenient, and cheap. Perfect for us college students across the street. Very nice servers that gave us some extra appetizers. I've gone back numerous times and enjoyed it.
