We took our car here to assess damage from a hit and run. They insisted that $10,000 was inclusive, that there was nothing mechanically wrong and that it would be ‘impossible’ that there would be more than $2500 more in damage (write off threshold). My intuition told me to get a second opinion. We took it to an auto body shop who also collaborates with our car manufacturer to do a complete engine diagnostic. Lo and behold they quoted the damage at $13,400 and doubted it was repairable. Not great
